Healthy and sustainable diet: how to meet both nutritional needs and climate challenges?

The agriculture and food system accounts for 34% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. France has committed to reducing GHG emissions by 46% by 2025. A joint study by the French Society of Nutrition (SFN) and the Climate Action Network (RAC) carried out by Nicole Darmon showed that a 50% reduction in meat consumption combined with an increase in the consumption of adequate vegetables reduces the carbon impact by 35% while satisfying nutritional recommendations for adults.

World Health Day 2024 “My health, my right”: April 7

The WHO Council on the Economics of Health for All has found that at least 140 countries recognize health as a human right in their constitutions. Yet far too many are not passing and putting into practice laws to ensure their populations are entitled to access health services. This underpins the fact that at least 4.5 billion people – more than half of the world’s population – were not fully covered by essential health services in 2021. To address these challenges, the theme for World Health Day 2024 is “My health, my right”.
