{"id":3993,"date":"2018-04-24T12:57:16","date_gmt":"2018-04-24T11:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/science-nutrition.com\/?p=3993"},"modified":"2018-06-29T15:30:06","modified_gmt":"2018-06-29T14:30:06","slug":"lefsa-publie-son-avis-scientifique-sur-la-securite-des-catechines-du-the-vert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/science-nutrition.com\/en\/2018\/04\/24\/lefsa-publie-son-avis-scientifique-sur-la-securite-des-catechines-du-the-vert\/","title":{"rendered":"EFSA published its scientific opinion on the safety of green tea catechins"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"l-subsection\"><div class=\"l-subsection-h\"><div class=\"l-subsection-hh g-html i-cf\">During March of 2018, a <strong>scientific opinion on the safety of green tea catechins<\/strong> has been adopted by the <strong>EFSA panel of Food Additives and Nutrients Source added to Foods (ANS)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>EFSA ANS Panel <\/strong>was asked to provide a scientific opinion on<strong> the safety of green tea catechins from dietary sources including preparations such as food supplements and infusion<\/strong>. The Panel considered the possible association between the consumption of (-)-<strong>epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG)<\/strong>, the <strong>most relevant catechin<\/strong> in green tea, and <strong>hepatotoxicity<\/strong>.
