Il vise \u00e0 encourager l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux ressources g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques et incite au partage juste et \u00e9quitable des avantages d\u00e9coulant de l&#8217;utilisation de ces ressources g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques (issues de plantes, animaux, bact\u00e9ries ou d&#8217;autres organismes) et des connaissances traditionnelles associ\u00e9es, dans un but commercial, de recherche ou pour d\u2019autres objectifs. Il offre une meilleure s\u00e9curit\u00e9 juridique pour les fournisseurs et utilisateurs de ces ressources et renforce leur tra\u00e7abilit\u00e9. Ce dispositif vise ainsi \u00e0 lutter contre la collecte et l\u2019usage de mat\u00e9riel biologique ou de connaissances traditionnelles sans avoir obtenu les autorisations n\u00e9cessaires.
