The French people place the environment at the top of the list of their concerns

The French ADEME has published its barometer on social representations of the greenhouse effect and climate change for the 20th consecutive year. Were interviewed 1,570 individuals and 495 elected officials. The barometer shows an ever-increasing concern on the environmental matters.

The interviewed people told they have adopted eco-friendly practices, including:

• “To take car of  buying seasonal vegetables” (68%, + 4 points since 2018),
• “To lower the home temperature by 2 or 3 degrees in winter and / or to limit air conditioning to 26 ° in summer” (64%, + 3 points),
• “To reduce meat consumption in the household” (50%, +5 points),
• “To consume less” (48%, +1 point),
• “To choose products with less impact on the environment” (40%, +6 points).

However, certain actions are more difficult to implement, particularly in terms of mobility:

• “To use public transport rather than car” lost 2 points (28%),
• “To Carpool or to share cars” lost 1 point (18%),
• “To Travel by bike or on foot rather than by car” only earns 1 point.
