WHO and Unicef report about breastfeeding habits of women

Breastfeeding is the best start to life, but 60 % of children miss breastfeeding during the first hour after their birth, which can rise the risks of death and diseases. The WHO and Unicef released this report during the World Breastfeeding Week from 1 to 7 August 2018. They collected data from 76 different countries to draw an international guide of breastfeeding habits after birth. This report showed in paricular that the breastfeeding rates within the first hour after birth are higher in Eastern and Southern Africa than in East Asia and the Pacific.
