The Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition Foundation (BCFN) developed the Food Sustainability Index and ranked 25 countries. Based on a multidisciplinary approach, the BCFN studied and analysed the relationship between food and scientific, economic, social and environmental factors. Results are divided in three subindex:

  • Food loss and waste
  • Sustainable agriculture
  • Nutritional challenges

France is first with the overall score of 67,5/100, followed by Japan and Canada.

We hope that best practices would inspire policy makers and companies for future initiatives!
