A study was published in the American Journal of Agricultural Economics of the Oxford Academy of October 2017 about the link between consumers’ knowledge about foodservice recycling and their food waste reduction behavior in a dinning experiment.

The results show that consumers who are aware of the environmental impact of their diets and behaviors significantly reduce their waste. However, this effect disappears when they know that their food waste will be composted or recycled!
