On January 25, from 11.00 to 12.30, the EFSA is holding a public webinar to explain the new application procedure for health claims, following the implementation since 27 March 2021 of the EU regulation 2019/1381 known as the Transparency Regulation.
The Transparency Regulation aims to improve the transparency and sustainability of European Union risk assessment in the food chain. This regulation is improving the transparency of EU risk assessment in the food chain, as well as the reliability, objectivity and independence of the studies used by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
The event will include a live demonstration of how to create an account in the new system, and explain issues such as requesting a pre-application ID, submitting an application, confidentiality and public consultation practices. All representatives of business operators, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as laboratories and testing facilities are invited to attend the event. A registration is just requested.
