Monday, January 31 was presented the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food on carbon neutrality. The agricultural and forestry sector, as an emitter and collector of greenhouse gases, is at the heart of France’s national low-carbon strategy. Goal: achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Agriculture is thus an essential link in the ambitious carbon neutrality strategy. To achieve this carbon neutrality, the ministry intends to rely on two levers:
- The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector;
- The development of agricultural carbon sinks to enable farmers to become real players in the fight against global warming.
